Augmented reality (AR) is an emerging technology of integrating digital information with the real world, which can augment customers personal experience while using it.

According to the Drum’s report, AR can attract people’s attention for over 85 seconds, increase 20 per cent interaction rates and 33 per cent click-through rates as well. So, AR is an excellent way to improve customers’ experience and brand awareness.

A popular and well-known game- ‘Pokemon Go’ has also use AR technology in their game. The new popular feature is called ‘Go snapshot’ which helps players to take augmented reality photos of pokemon they encounter in the wild. Players can throw the Pokeball to the spot where pokemon appears at, after that, they can own this lovely pokemon.

To improve game players’ experience, the designer introduces more advanced animations for individual monsters. Such as Charmander’s fiery tail and more realistic shadows that can help pokemon appear more natural.

However, any photos that players take will be automatically saved to their phone’s photo albums. ‘Pokemon GO’ has made $1.1 billion last year, topping the likes of PUBG and Candy Crush.

AR seems like a natural fit for education in the classroom or the workplace. For example, teachers can use AR technology to simulate experimental operation on physics and chemistry class.
