Today we are going to introduce the ‘location-based services’ and its application in our daily life.
Location-based services are the offering services through mobile phone and considering the geographical location. Some mobile app is using this technology now, for example, Google map and Apple map.
Google map is a location-based service application on electronic devices which offers many useful functions. Such as satellite imagery, aerial photography, 360° panoramic views of streets (street view), route planning, real-time traffic conditions and so on.

People can also search the restaurants, hotels or hospitals nearby through Google map (picture below) which is convenient for people to find the detailed nearest address within the shortest time.

Study shows that most smartphone users regularly use navigation apps, with nearly 70% of the 77% of location-based service app users choose Google map. This indicates Google map app would have a great potential market and customer in the future.

However, Google map still has to improve its customers’ experience for sustainable development. Even though Google map is convenient for people, but there still have many negative comments. For example, here is a negative comment which said that the app could not work well with IOS system, could not double to zoom photos and the directions keep changing while using it.

Good point! Also, Google map can provide their add at the bottom of some websites or insert Google map function in some reservation app for facilitating people’s life!

Good post! Google map is a good opportunity for company to attract customers. I think company can pay to google and increase customer review and rating to get higher rank when customer searches a service or store.
